Arabian Knights CO: AKCobra XO: AKMadMass |
N |
The Arabian Knights squadron was formed in January of 1992 for the sole purpose of competing in multi- player Red Baron on the Sierra Network. The squadron was actually formed about 2 months before MP Red Baron was released by Sierra, making the AKs the first Red Baron squadron ever formed. The AKs were conceived and formed on the Genie network, and the name "Arabian Knights" was chosen to reflect our Genie heritage. The Arabian Knights squadron is best known for the fierce loyalty of its members, and its dedication to the ideals of Honor, Excellence in Flying, and Good Sportsmanship. |

Blue Knights RB/FC CO: BKSkyVon WB CO: BKhoolgn UO CO: BKPulse |
Y |
The Blue Knights Squadron began on The Sierra Network, on April 27th, 1992. The founder, BKSteve, or Blue Knight as he's known on Warbirds, named the squadron after his grandfather, who served as a pilot in World War II. The reasons for creating a squad were simple: Steve was a Red Baron enthusiast and wanted to fly with others that shared his pastime. The idea quickly caught, and before long there were numerous squadrons online. Some of the BK's early members include McCloud, Havoc, Malice, Stinger, and RayO. Many good things came out of this group: McCloud would implement many of the organizational structures that would help guide the group, Havoc created RB's greatest competition: SkyWars, Malice went on to lead the squad in its Air Warrior days, and Stinger & RayO won numerous tournaments in the early days of RB, cementing the BKs role as the squad to beat on TSN. All modesty aside, we won just about everything. RickT (an FT in those days, now a BK member) remembers: "The BKs were kind of like the Empire Stormtroopers: the problem was we didn't have any Luke's on our squad." These were the golden times of TSN. Squads flourished, the competition was fierce, and everyone had one hell of a lot of fun. Soon, though, TSN would become INN, and everything would change. Sadly, our concerns over INN's refusal to deal with its problems soon turned to certainties, and we gradually drifted over to Air Warrior. The BKs continued to fly on AW until June of '96, when a few of us began to fly more and more on Warbirds. The BKs have continued to fly on Warbirds, and have become one of the best squadrons around. We have evolved into tight knit group of friends, rather than a fleeting group of acquaintances. Most of the people in the squad have known each other for years, and quite a few of us have met each other in person. Still, we greatly welcome new members, and are always pleased to get them, TSN or not. The future for the BKs remains wide open. We continue to fly, have fun, and kill as many enemies as possible. We have shown that this is a tough group to break up, as well as being a tough group to defeat in the air. Count on seeing BKs in the virtual skies for a long time to come. "For God, For Country, For Beer" Blue Knights |

Flying Tigers Founding CO: HatchetFT |
N |
Established on a brisk day in 1992, the Flying Tigers were formed. Fokker who had recently left the Wing Walkers (WW)was looking for new pilots to start a new squad. Being a pilot who flew with the JG's and WW's on TSN and remembering cutting our teeth together, I decided to take the leap to a new squad with Fokker. The Flying Tigers were the last squad forming on TSN 10.4. At the time, there were probably about as many squads on TSN as have posted here. 10.4 was dying down and 2.0 was on the horizon. After countless invitations to re-join the WW's, we stuck to our guns and began recruiting. We gathered one of the greatest group of pilots by the release of 2.1 and continued until the final demise of INN! As stated in our bylaws, the FT's were looking for a group of pilots that knew dignity, honor and above all, FUN! Date: November 1997 5 years after the initial forming of the Flying Tigers, I am again looking for pilots for the inauguration of the Flying Tigers of RB2. The FT's currently have squadrons on Air Warrior WWI and Warbirds. Joined with the later INN/AW CO's RekkofFT and TarlFT, we are again looking for new pilots! Our mission hasn't changed, we are still looking for dignity, honor and above all, FUN! Please let me know if you're interested! |

Guardian Angels Founding CO: AIR25 Points of Contact RB CO: Prop2U ACO: Maj. Doolittle XO: Nubie |
Y |
The Guardian Angel's fly on the fighter sim Red Baron II sponsored by WON.Net and a product of Sierra/Dynamix. The squad here has a strong leadership in its officers and a great bunch of guys flying her colors. My thanks to them for allowing the squad to grow and to venture out to other fighter sims on the Internet. I started the GA's on Aug. 3, 1997 on AOL where I had been flying for over two years and on the Air Warrior game. Once AOL chose to start charging for the time to fly on line, Prop2U, Sir Spider and NvHa and I talked about moving the GA's to Red Baron II and Game Storm and trying to keep the squad intact. After doing so, I then move the squad to both, Won.net and Game Storm and today we continue to thrive. We fly WW1 and are among the best their are. I wish to Salute and Thank all of them who fly the GA color's, for they are the squad and "They" fly them well..... Air25/Founder |

Jagdgeschwader I CO: JG1Lowengrin |
Y |
JG1 Cyber Squadron conveys the tradition of the real JG1 and fight with only the highest ideals of honour, chivalry, courage and respect. This is the Code we fly by, and this is the era we love. The pilots of JG1 Cyber Squadron are fine tacticians at the front. Thier ability to distill the most important lessons they learn in air combat so that they can pass them on to thier new pilots have been of immense value for several years. Above that, thier membership has also proven to include some of the best combat aviators in the Red Baron Community. With extraordinary eyesight and marksmanship combined with thier superlative flying skills, they are deadly adversaries and should not be approached lightly. JG1 pilots are stalkers and are supremely patient. It's Jastas will wait an hour for just the right chance to attack thier prey, then swoop in and quickly eliminate them when that opportunity finally comes along. They study each aircraft they fly so they are able to extract every bit of performance out of it possible. JG1 pilots are considered students of tactics and fly as a team, rather than as a group of individuals. In the air and on the ground JG1 pilots are romantics, yet technical analysts of air combat, calculating and weighing each attack's risks and benefits before entering into the fight. They eschew prolonged dogfights in favor of sudden surprise attacks from above and up-sun. Approach JG1 Pilots with extreme caution. A JG1 pilot is rarely seen without one another. Above all else, they are always led by outstanding Jasta Leaders. JG1 is to be feared, as they are tough, disciplined, ruthless and utterly relentless. |

Jagdgeschwader II CO: JG2 Razman |

We are an ELITE group of pilots flying for the German Air Service (GAS). We will fight on all fronts of the trenches to protect our beloved GERMANY (in cyber space). Soon we will begin our missions in Earnest and we will annihilate the Allied mob!! We will sweep the skies of the vermin with the help of Jagdgeschwader I, our brothers in combat, for the protection of the German people! If you wish to apply to our Jagdgeschwader II you must be dedicated to HONOR, COURAGE, AND COMMITMENT above all else! |
|
Jagdgeschwader 23 |
Wolfgang von Jäger was born on Oct 26th, 1968, near München Bavaria, where his father was a Count. He performed his duty through the early months of the war like many young men, transferring to the Air Service in June, 1994 where he proved himself in combat over the front against the Flying Tigers & Arabian Knights in the INN, TSN, Simguild & AOL Air Warrior arenas. The young officer came to the attention of Rittmeister Baron von Helton, who in the summer prior to the release of RBII, asked him to join his fighter squadron Jagdgeschwader 1. On September 17th, 1997 he was assigned command of the newly forming Jasta 10, the first Jasta ever created in the newly evolving Red Baron Community. His unit became one of the premier Jastas in JG1, and Jäger became the very first Hauptman of the very first German RB Squadron also the first and most long standing Adjutant of JG1. He helped transform the fighting style of the early JG1 from a series of individualistic solo dogfights to a serious aspect of team warfare by introducing rotte & kette tactics to the Simguild arena. Outlining the organization of Online German Flight Wings based on those in true history, he sets the standard for Jasta organization. Three years later, distinguishing himself as a respected air combat leader, the JG1 staff promoted him to Rittmeister, leader of the infamous Jasta 11 and JG1. After three triumphant tournements during his JG1 command he along with two long time RB1 & RB2 commrades Grau Geist & Gottfried von Mann Teufle (Jastas 6, 10, 11), created "Jasta 23 Bavarian" by request of the Kaiser in February 2000, to help establish a Bavarian Fighter prescence over the front. |

Jagdgeschwader 3 CO: JG3Von Helton XO: JG3Warfly |
Y |
JG3 is the 3rd in a line of historical Geschwaders in the Red Baron II game, but not limited to the historical alone. Our purpose is simple: Crush the Allied advance as quickly and efficiently as possible. We don't claim to be the biggest or the best, just determined to win! |
|
Jasta 8 CO: J8_Ernst Voss_CO |
Y |
Above all else, Jasta 8 is a group of online friends that enjoy flying together as a team on RB2/3D when we are able. We believe that as a team and through involvement with the larger Red Baron community we can overcome the limitations originally designed into this simulation. Jasta 8 has remained a small squad since it's inception back in early 1998. We have never been about the numbers, the number of members to the squad or the number of kills to a match. What we are about is the quality of those individuals in our Jasta and the satisfaction of a match well fought, whichever way the victory may fall. We are currenly looking for a few new members. If you think that you may be interested, please go through our easy to browse website to understand our origins and fundamental beliefs. We are a democratic squad and all importand decisions such as recruiting are made as a group. You can contact any one of us through our roster page. |
|
Jasta 18 CO: SpeedRacer XO: Oilsmoke |
Y |
The Jasta 18 was formed, as many squads have been, as an organized approach to online flight sims. Or primary focus is to bring honor, loyalty, and respect into the arena along with the new depth that a squad can create within a flight sim. Over time we have developed many great relationships with many of the squads listed here. We hope that our endeavor into RBII will be as successful as we have enjoyed in Simguild's Flying Circus. Jasta 18 is currently looking for honorable pilots for it's new RB3D Division. For more information go to the Jasta 18 head quarters. |

Jagdgeschwader 666 - Squadron of Experts Point of Contact |
N |
Jagdgeschwader 666 was founded in 1998 by "JG666 S. von Haase". It was formed with the aim to build an Elite Squadron for Online Gaming. We engage with other squadrons in the World War I flightsimulation 'Red Baron II' / 'Red Baron 3D' produced by Sierra/Dynamix. We recruit only the best. Our members have to know their planes exactly and must be able to fly at their limits. We are all Germans and we recruit only Germans as we are a German squadron. We see our Squadron in the tradition of the historical German Squadrons of World War I. With this in mind we only accept German members. We do not want to be a squadron with a lot of members. We just want to be a small crack unit formed out of pilots with outstanding combat skills. Those people who already have flown against us remember us the next time they meet one of our members. Some of them keep away from us after they made acquaintance with our pilots in the air. Jagdgeschwader 666 is not a squadron with military order. All members are equal to each other. There is no ranking system and no promotion system. We are partners to each other and not subordinates. With these allowances we are an efficient and notorious squadron. Our red and white planes can be recognised easily by our opponents. There is no official recruiting. We will choose the pilots in direct engagement in the air. After evaluation of their combat skills they will be asked to join. We are JG 666 - The Squadron of Experts |
The KA 7 War Machine Points of Contact KA7_vondad

KA7 was formed by Vondad to be an honorable squadron to compete in the upcoming RedBaron2 Massive Multi Player. The squad enlists both highly skilled pilots and the new young talent that is continually cropping up on WON and Kali. Requirements for membership include flexibility in flying both central powers and allied aircraft. Team work and Chivalry are a must, and KA7 members are expected to fight with courtesy as well as with tenacity. Please visit our website, and delight in the legend of KA7...... |

Lone Wulffe Contact: LWulffe_Jupes |
Y |
The Lone Wulffe Squadron was formed on December 27, 1998 by a group of long-time friends that wanted to band together and form a unique squadron to battle Allies in Red Baron 3D. There are no titles or rank in Lone Wulffe - duties are divided democratically, and everything that can be handled as a team is accomplished that way. Some of the members of Lone Wulffe are former REBELLS!, another excellent squadron. Feel free to stop by the web site and ask questions - we'll help you if we can. |
|
Pig Stompers Warbirds CO: PSJC AirWarrior CO: PSPiranha Red Baron CO: PSApteryx |
? |
The PigStomper Squadron was formed in July of 1992. What started as a way of ribbing the established squads of the time , grew to become one of the largest ( over 130 pilots) and one of the best respected squadrons on the TSN/INN network. Over the years literally hundreds of members have enjoyed the thrill of the 'SQUEEEEEE'. After INN went belly up the PigStompers branched out to other flight sims. PSJC commands the squad on Warbirds and PSPiranha commands the various squads on Air Warrior. PSApteryx retains overall PigStomper Squadron command. The PigStompers anxiously await the return of Red Baron to the net so that the SQUEEEEEEEEEEeee can once again be heard above the noise of the rotary engines. |
|
PrJs666 CO: PJ666Ronbo Founder: Vampyre |
Y |
Our squadron is PrJs666, We are trying to model a Prussian jasta. Our squadron is for all levels of ability as we wish to model a true squadron (very few squads were ever made up of all aces) and we are openly recruiting anyone who enjoys flying the german aircraft and who hold flying and fighting with honor above all else (which befits an aristocrat). We have few requirements above flying with honor. |
|
46 Squadron RFC CO: RFC56 Hawker XO: RFC46 Seawolf |
Y |
46 Squadron RFC is a unit formed for fans of Red Baron II Multiplayer, who want to fight and win as a team. The unit concept comes from the original 46 Squadron Royal Flying Corps and later Royal Air Force(from April 1918) and it's experiences during WW1. The squadron is notable for being the basis of a wonderful book about WW1 Flying. The book is called "Winged Victory" and is written by a member of the original 46 Squadron, V.M.Yeates. We therefore have a serious and proud tradition to emulate, maintaining great respect and admiration for those real pilots who risked, and often lost, their lives so long ago. Much of our website is devoted to them. Nevertheless the main object of 46 Squadron RFC is to have fun! May you always shoot straight and keep your airspeed up. |
|
R.A.F. 74 Squadron CO: Col. Taipan XO: Maj. Stew Contact: Lt. Sparrow |
Y |
The Royal Air Force (RAF) Squadron number 74 is considered amongst the most honorable, and formidable squads in the Red Baron community. Since our beginnings in 1997 we've seen many changes within the RB community, and some great times have been had by all. We've weathered the changes and emerged a very tight knit group who are very active in squadron functions. We've participated in the Verdun War, Bloody April, Great War 3, and Great War 4. Those have been the great wars. We are also known for hosting our bi-monthly events known as "Crimson Fall" and "Bethune Cup" These two events are intersquad events in Which an equal number of players compete for the coveted cups of the event. The winner is plaqued on the cup for two months and publicly displayed for the whole community to see. We at RAF 74 are taking a long view at the life of Red Baron and are trying to create ways of keeping the community active and interesting. We are always looking for new talented pilots, we've got a great training program that increases the skills of our pilots. We hold training exercises with in our different sections and our training has more than paid off in the events we've been in. If your interested stop by our home page and join up, we'd love to give you a test flight. |
|
Rebells CO: EnGel |
Y |
Started on 2 November 1998, the Rebells squadron brought back the fun to all pilots. It works in a very simple way: here people help each other. Here everybody is equal and has the same rights. Our organization come from responsibility and respect for the others opinions. Just respect yourself and the others. Here we don't have a gazillion rules and regulations, we keep it simple and to the point |
|
Screamin' Eagles CO: SE-Weed |
Y |
The Screamin' Eagles fly for fun first. Established recently (January 15th, 1999) the SE's is an organization for pilots that do not have regular schedules online. There are no meetings or practices. We fly for either side of the war, depending on which side the server needs pilots to even things up. While many squadrons have a hierarchy of officers, we do not. We are first and foremost about enjoying air combat and having fun. We are always happy to consider applications from potential pilots. The main requirements we ask for is to have fun, play fair, and kick ass. |
|
USAS 27th Pursuit Squadron CO: Hartney XO: Vasconcells |
Y |
We are a small group of people who fly together in the multiplayer version of the World War I aerial combat simulation Red Baron 3-D. We model our unit after the 27th Pursuit Squadron, one of the finest American squadrons to fly in the Great War. As a unit, our focus is on strategy and teamwork. We also seek to bring an element of history to the game, to help make RB3D MMP a more realistic simulation of the first air war for all involved. |
|
US 103rd CO: COL Yankee |
Y |
The US 103rd Aero endeavour to fly with honour and valour, and to do so while having fun. We fly the Spad XIII the majority of the time, as is historically accurate, but also fly German planes for practice and training, and earlier allied planes when engaged in wars. While we, like many squadrons, have a hierarchy of officers and opportunities for promotion and to be honoured by awards and medals, we are first and foremost about enjoying air combat of the Great War. You will find us a happy bunch where all are treated as equals and all get their say. We are always happy to consider applications from potential pilots of the 103rd, and will offer training to those in need of it, but who also show drive and enthusiasm. Salute! |
|
Von Vockerman's Vultures CO: Vv_Vockerman |
Y |
HONOR IMPRIMIS - Honor above all things. Courtesy and chivalry are not just expected - They are required. When you fly with Von Vockerman's Vultures "Courage and Valor" are every pilots Motto! We are a German Squad and fly German planes. We started in the early Beta days of Simguild's Flying Circus and several of us have been flying together for years now. The Vv have an internal training program, an assigned wingman, a rank structure and a series of medals and awards to qualify for. You don't have to be an expert to get an invitation to join us, if you have some patience and are of good character we will teach you to fly and fight well. We also offer new pilots our assistance with technical problems and the friendship of the FLOCK! |
|
Wing Walkers CO: WWWilli XO: WWReaper RO: WW8Ball |
Y |
The Wing Walkers were one of the first few squadrons to be formed on TSN in early 1992, following shortly on the heels of the Arabian Knights. Founded originally by WWBlueMax, the WW's quickly became a quite respected name within the RED BARON community. Finally, on Jan 1st 1995 the WW's dispersed ( as well as many other squadrons on TSN) due to an outrageous price increase. Many of the Wing Walker's members were unfortunately forced to join other squadrons in other flight simulations games. At that time, the squadron's leaders (CO WWBlueMax; XO WWBrian) turned in their leathers in wait for another World War 1 multi-player simulation to appear. Now that RED BARON 2 has been released many years later, it's time to dig out the ole' flying leathers, remove the moth eaten tarpaulins, switches on, and TAKE BACK TO THE SKIES!!!!! -It's time to re-instate the Wing Walker Squadron!!!!! We will remain as a dedicated World War1 Squadron. Our principle interest being in the "nostalgia" of the era. We don't have names like WWKiLlErDuDe, nor do we condone anything disrespectful to the WW name or any other squadron's banner. The number one requirement to be a WW is CHIVALRY! Flying and Combat skills are not our biggest concern (though they sure help a lot=P ) , but instead we look more for folks who get along well with others and enjoy being part of a close-knit team. |
