INFANTRY ATTACKS...there should be missions that are for strafing and bombing enemey attacks on your own trench lines. I suppose that they were intended to be some of the missions that are already in there, but they DONT work well...finding attacking infantry is haphazard at best. There should be SPECIFIC strafing/bombing missions to either support your own infantry attacking or to break up an enemey attack on your infantry. Throw in an ocassional flight of bad guys to interfere with you...tho not always...and you'll have it. - G.Harrison |
These will probably remain as they are Adding infantry support missions would require rewriting the mission generator and adding a lot of briefing/debriefing code. |
No fix |
|
Throw in an ocassional pass or leave to Paris, London, Berlin, Munich etc. It could be tied to numbers of kills...like 10, 25, 45 etc., or some format that would be appropriate. 'AS A RESULT OF YOUR GOOD WORK, THE CO, (OR HQ), HAS APPROVED A TWO WEEK HOME LEAVE FOR YOU. YOU LEAVE TONITE...HAVE FUN!!' or 'BECAUSE OF YOUR GOOD WORK, THE CO HAS APPROVED A THREE DAY PASS TO BERLIN. THE TRAIN LEAVES IN TWO HOURS' Reflect this time in the dossier/stats - G.Harrison |
Very cool idea, but unlikely to be added. New features are way behind fixes on the to do list. |
No fix. |
|
The personal Stats, Dossier or Log should reflect POW time, Wounds and hospital/convelesent time and any big time aces you have killed. 11/19/16 EIII...Bolecke 01/22/17 thru 04/26/17 POW 09/16/17 Gotha..(wounded) 09/16/17 thru 0921/17 Hospital - G.Harrison |
Another great idea, but probably not destined for a patch. |
No fix. |
|
Well, this is assuming the AI 'learns' or improves based on flights performed etc... When playing as a Squad Leader, be able to assign new pilots in your squadron to a mission type called a 'training run' or something of that nature. So if they are not needed on any current missions, they could be out 'training' with, say, one experienced pilot. Maybe make it so a certain amount of these training missions would bring their status up to a certain lvl but not higher (to avoid training them till they were elite). It seems as Flight Leader it would be a bit more realistic to model the responsibilities of being such, one of which was training 'green' pilots while keeping a balance of enough men handy to go on necessary missions. - voodoochile |
This is a very good idea that we intend to implement for X-Fighters, but it is really too involved for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
I'd like a text line indicating the severity of wounds, much as we currently recieve notification of oil pressure drops. Just a simple 'Sharp pain in the buttock' style message. Then tie all these flesh wounds into the 'hospital' screen. It'd both be functional during flight, giving more awareness of how promply we need to make a landing, and add to the 'immersion' in campaign play. - toado |
Hmmm. This is a definite maybe. Well see how hard this would be to add (text is usually pretty easy). |

A list of losses (kills and wounding) of the squadron. (perhaps in the Squadron ops as extra button) - Mike van Schöll |
Good, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
More information what´s going on on the front. you can do it with the newspaper. - Mike van Schöll |
Good, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |

Other pilots in squad should have kills at anytime, not only when you fly with them. - Mike van Schöll |
This is another one we are looking into. |

The ability to choose how many missions you wish to fly per day during your career would be fantastic. At the moment it is set to 250, and to change it requires fiddling with files outside of the game. It also means that if you wish to switch campaigns and use an older campaign, you are stuck with the same amount of total missions. For instance, you edit the file so's your American pilot flying in the last few months of the war has only two missions a day. Then you switch back later to your early German pilot flying Eindeckers in 1916. You are stuck with very few missions, spread out over days, possibly weeks, unless you again go and edit the file that controls total missions. - Matt |
This will probably remain part of the setup files, but we will consider putting a button in the preference screen. |
Uncertain. |
|
I love playing the campaigns, but am disappointed at the limited number of aces throughout RB2. For instance, in the manual it shows Von Richtofen talking to Lt. Klein, a 22 kill ace from Jasta 10. Yet in the game, he doesnt appear to exist. I think that, the ability to create aces would be fantastic, especially in the middle of a campaign. Give the player the ability to choose the aces statistics, plane color scheme etc. etc. Just imagine, want to fly against Biggle's squadron?? Easy. Just edit the stats for a squadron opposite you flying Camels or something - hell, you could even be in the squadron yourself, flying with them all. I think this would just add a bit more to the immersiveness of the campaign play, but I would really be interested to know what others thought. - Matt |
This is too big an issue for the patch, but it is a great idea Ill steal er keep in mind for future games. |
No fix. |
|
Would it be possible to have a German career start earlier than 9/16? It would be nice to be part of the 1915 Fokker Scourge! - Russell Alexander |
Well have to look into why it is the way it is now before we can see if it is something we can change. |
Pending. |
|
When a player pilot is killed, give an option of starting a new "replacement" pilot for the same squadron. I'd like to continue with a new guy with my old squadron mates. - M. Nardi |
Not something that we can easily do for a patch. |
No fix. |
|
Heres one for immersion, make a book graphic with blank pages that a pilot can type in as a diary of his accounts of his days flight events, effectively keeping a documented history of his entire "tour of duty" or campaign, it could be saved for viewing at a later time( the flipping pages feature, already in the game), or exported as a simple text doc to share with others. (this couldnt be much more than a simple and basic word processing routine), but how cool would it be? - Ernst Kessler How about adding in squadron insignia cut outs or serial numbers from our kills as if we had landed and cut these outta the canvas alla WW1 confirming your own kills style? A simple screen shot of your kills going down might be a nice alternative/ addition as well. - ? |
A fantastic idea. Probably too much art hit for the patch, but if we cant get it in, be sure youll see it in a future product |
Uncertain. |
|
Another "Immersion" factor which should have been brought over from RB1. #4. Once the player had established himself in rank and # of kills...then the game would offer him his own personal plane every time a new fighter was released by his government. I.e. in late Aug of 1917, you would get a screen with a rotating Dr1 with a brief description and an offer to accept your own personal Dreidekker! - Garp |
Great idea for the future, but more than we can do for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
Implement the German Jagdgeschwadern (each comprised of three or four Jastas combined into one unit), and have them move all around the front instead of staying at one aerodrome. For example, Manfred von Richthofen's J.G 1, and Rudolf Berthold's J.G 2 could be included. - Lagrange |
Another great idea for RB3, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
It would be nice to be able to request a certain type of plane and keeping that plane if so desired (by availablity of the era), when acheiving Acehood status. Would also be nice, to be able to decline automatic transfers. - R.Garcia |
Great ideas. Declining transfers may be possible Well look into it. |

|
I think that you should be able to hit the "SHIFT-N" Key in the solo game and see the name of the planes in YOUR FLIGHT. This is a true wish, not a necesary thing. I would just like to know if my wingman is doing his job, and who is attacking whom. - KNS31 Flying Canuck |
Were working on something along these lines. |
Pending. |
|
It is a tad annoying not to see yourself listed as an ace for the particular squadron you`re flying for..plus please allow the squadron info to show your custom paintjob on the planes page - McCudden |
I agree. I we are trying to fix this. |

Allow the Germans to use parachutes to bail out with as was historically accurate late in the war. - Allow the Germans to use parachutes to bail out with as was historically accurate late in the war. |
Not likely in the patch. |
No fix. |
|
Impliment Wound Badges for German pilots (black, silver, gold) for wounds while in combat. Impliment Purple Heart for americans if historically accurate. (I dont know if it is. - Comte DeLoach |
Good idea, but not likely in the patch. |
No fix. |
|
'Accept fate' and 'Retry mission' buttons available after imprisionment, maiming, or death from injury. I'm tired of having to back my campaign folder up after every mission just to get a pilot past two week life expectancy. - Fletch |
Not sure how tough this will be to implement, but it is on the list of if it isnt too tough changes. |

|
Dynamic terrain. Especially unused Aerodromes should not be present. Move the actual frontline according to the historical situation (especially after March 1918). - Axel Schudak |
Boy, Id love that. Unfortunately, it would require a ton of new code, and it isnt going to happen for a patch. |
No fix. |
|
Improved ground attacks! First: Scouts should take more than one pass on a ground attack mission. Second: Low flying bombers should attack with their MGs, too. This was the typical attack type of the Schlastas. - Axel Schudak |
Were working on AI, and that may be doable as part of the changes. |
Pending. |
|
Put back in the southern England terrain from RB1. Remember how fun it was to fly a Pup and defend London from dastardly Hun zeppelins and Gotha bombers? I enjoyed that campaign career where one could fly the missions and yet make it to the local Pub for an Ale and a round of dart ;-) - Fryster Please bring back home defense missions (i.e.) London, Paris, Berlin ect against Gothas, Zepps and Allied bombers. - Michael Chapman |
Adding in terrain is way beyond the scope of a patch (not to mention adding huge amounts to the data). Good idea, though. |
No fix. |
|
Squadron Info should display actual aces from the campaign, both player and AI pilots. Currently only historic aces' names appear, which is a bit absurd when the player happens to be heading the Top Aces list. - Sky |
On the list of things to do. |
Pending. |

Would add to the 'immersion' if we could see the results of other flights within the squadron at debriefing. now you could (if you are CO) delete all other flights for all they accomplish! Give us the means to add to the war effort! - Scott |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
I wish that I could fly as a pilot of Schlasta on Albatros C.III etc. I wanna be WWI "Rudel"... - Luke |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
How about some of the other theaters; Russian, Italian, I think also the Middle East would be pretty interesting for a new setting. Earlier campaign starting date for the Germans would be good, I'd like to fly the Fokker E.III when it was in its prime, not when it was target practice for Nieuport 11's. - Zach |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
How about some "immersion" script variables placed back in from the original RB1 reflecting the "race to become top ace" motif such as: 1. Being challenged by aces to duels as well as personal invites from them to join their elite squads - Garp |
Ace challenges are being considered for the patch. We believe we have enough artwork to do it. |
Pending. |
|
2. One should be informed when they have shot down "x" ace without watching the ambiguous debriefing video...mabee the pilot logs could even show credit for downing an ace - Garp |
A maybe item for the patch. |
Uncertain. |
|
3. Qualify how high the aces and the players pilots were at the time of thier deaths by saying anything from "his (your) fellow pilots mourn his (your) death"...and up to "all of England mourns his (your) death - Garp |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
Include the Belgian Air Service as a choice for new pilots. They flew Nieuport 17s, Camels, SPAD VIIs and XIIIs, and Hanriot HD-1s, that I know of. - Pájaro |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
Supply Columns. This includes troop columns, trains, and staff cars that actually move along the roads. Staff cars and trains are supposed to move along the roads. I would like to see supply and troop columns too since these were more common targets. - Sixoclockbandit |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
There are no in flight commands in RBII. There used to be A for Attack and R for Rejoin in RBI. I've tried the A and R and I don't think they do anything. You would have to be close enough to see a hand signal. Hand signals like CTRL A for Attack CTRL R for Rejoin, and a really cool one would be CTRL S for Surrender! The pilot could throw both arms up in the air and you could force land him! Then you would get extra points for information from him and his plane. - Sixoclockbandit Make the wingmen commands work. A nice realism addition to this would be to have a signal flare from leaders plane go off when sending something like the "regroup" command. - Garp |
There are supposed to be some commands in the game. We are trying to get them in the patch. |
Pending. |

Occasionally when flying in a campaign shooting at an enemy plane one of my wingmen fly between us and gets hit by my bullets and spirals down into the dirt. I get back from the mission only to find that I've been court-martialed and have lost another really good pilot because my wingmen are idiots. I think the first time you shoot a wingman you should be given the benefit of the doubt and if it happens a second time in a mission you should be punished. However if you shoot a wingman when theres no enemy planes around you should be punished no matter how many you've shot. - Peter Heard |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
RB I occaisionally presented one with a campaign mission that was aerodrome defense. Scout planes were sighted approaching (or over) the aerodrome and you had to jump to get into the air and attack them before the enemy planes could do too much damage. Since Attack Aerodrome is a mission in the campaign, Aerodrome defense would be a nice mission type also. - Kirk |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
Please insert following: in campaign screen the actually date and daytime. For example: 14.April 1917 CAMPAIGN SCREEN 9:00am FLY NEXT MISSION SQUADRON OPS - Mike van Schöll |
Another maybe item. |

|
How about an option to have your active pilots fly missions in the campaigns of other pilots. In other words, you might run into one of your own German aces while flying as an Allied ace. Of course you might shoot yourself down, but it would be fun to spot one of your own original paint designs flying over the front. - Mike McClellan |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
How about a listing of high scores, as it is now, you score points, but never see them anywhere - Mike McClellan |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |

Let fighters ESCORT fighters rather than just bombers. For example, let me create one flight of fighters with bombs to attack a target, and set a second flight (without bombs) to protect them from any enemy scouts doing CAP over the target. - Bruce Buckman |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
No fix. |
|
Let flights with a takeoff time LATER than the mission start time begin the mission sitting on the runway. For example, if I set a flight of bombers to takeoff from a base that is the target of an attack a few minutes after the attack begins, they will suddenly materialise on the runway at their designated takeoff time. I want the ability for attacking planes to surprise and strafe planes parked at an aerodrome. - Bruce Buckman |
Nice idea, but not destined for the patch. |
