I would like to see a map more historical to WW1 instead of an island that you are flying around. I would like to have a choice of what scenery to fly from. - Robert Frazier |
It is unlikely that there will be any further additions of features to the existing multiplayer. We will be saving up these ideas for future titles, though. |

How about the multi-player origionally concieved by me and other TSN/INN pilots: When you first log onto WON, the first thing you see is a map of an enlarged and improved front, comprising not only Europe, but North Africa, Turkey, England etc.... By clicking on one of the airfield icons, this brings you to a custom chat room, with the name of that airfield, WW1 memorabilia (pics, icons, etc.), and a kneeboard map to the left that shows the status of current games in play. Your airfield can be password protected, so that you and your squadron only can access, if you so wish. This airfield corresponds to the same airfield you see when flying in WON. In fact, in order to go to someone else's chat room, you must fly to it! If it is not password protected, you'll get that 'Cleared to land' message, like you get in the home game. If it is password protected, you will be notified to fly back home. I would like the ability to request a landing, and maybe gain access to the chat room that way as well. If your flying an allied plane with allied markings, and you approach a german airfield, the following happens: 1. AAA fire will shoot at you 2. An icon in the german chat room will flash, allerting them to incoming planes. 3. The germans click on the kneeboard list to the left, and are instantly put in their planes for take off. 4. You see the planes on the airfield below. 5. The number of aircraft you see correlates with the number of people that are in the chat room. You also see that these are custom planes you see....not 'generic' planes. 6.If you can avoid the AAA and shoot down all the german planes, you can fly back to your airfield. 7. If you are shot down, you are captured or killed, and must revive your pilot before logging onto WON again. - Baron von Helton |

How about a server version of the software so that people can set up servers that allow for games with more than 4-8 players? Anyone that's played Quake or Quake2 using gamespy can tell you that 32 players adds a lot to a game. With this type of server software we could create some really intense team games. Just imagine the different types of play that could be implemented! Haveing played AirWarrior and Warbirds the commonly used 4 player limit on WON gets dull real fast. - Genocide |
The current game is not server based, it is a peer-to-peer system. Future multiplayer games will be server-based, join-in-progress games and should allow more players and the ability to setup your own servers, but to implement these features in RB2 multiplayer would mean scrapping the existing game and starting over. |

The host should be able to add AI players in any types of multi-player missions. Coop missions should also be available. - Christian Boutin |

8 PLAYER NOW !!!! 16 player ASAP ! - Flybert |
The peer-to-peer system used in the multiplayer is too subject to packet loss or latency problems with a large number of players to allow consistent play with more than 4 players over WON. A new, server-based multiplayer engine is in development for future products. |

At the moment multiplayer games encourage cowardly acts!!! Some pilots dive after planes that are shot to pieces just to get in the last hit and to steal the credit from the pilot who scored 99% of the hits to that plane! Fix: Make the most hits count in getting kills! After multiple planes crash they all start from same airfield.. and then you see a plane getting shot by another plane from the same base??? ..and quite often right after the wheels leave the ground. Fix: Spread the planes around to closest bases after "new life" - JG2BlauKreuz |
Good point, well look into it. |

I would like to be able to pick the number of lives for Hard,Medium,or Easy games. Personally I would like to be able to fly with the Hard setting but have 7 lives per person. - FdWalkerGT |

In the future, what about a WW1 online game like Microsoft's "Fighter Ace", allowing dozens of people flying on the same map ? - Th. Cailleteau |

A plane crashing on the ground when he is chasing you should count as a victory if he is locked to you (with E, D, or T key). For the moment, it doesn't count as a victory if you did not hit him once before. Too bad, because one historical tactic (and also one of my favorites) was to try to lead your pursuer close to the ground, or around buildings, under bridges (I love this !). Very often, hot blooded unexperienced pilots kill themselves crashing, but it is your wise move that actually killed them. Right now on multiplayer, if another guy has just put one bullet in your pursuer several minutes before, he is credited for the kill. - Th. Cailleteau |
True, but maneuver kills were not universally accepted as valid kills for the pilot. Plus, this has the potential to cause a wealth of problems getting the system to properly decide what is and isnt a kill. |

How about a ranking system taking count of both the victories AND defeats ? For the moment, the game just counts victories, and so the flying strategies are somewhat "Doomlike", and ground crashes and collisions not enough important. - Th. Cailleteau |

The host should be allowed to choose an historical date for the game he is going to run. So, people will not be always flying the same plane (Sopwith Snipe are soooo common these days !). They'll have to find the best plane for a given date, and we will see more often Eindeckers ore Morane Bullet. People will soon get tired of these fights between the same allied plane. - Th. Cailleteau |

Limit the ammo. Why should online play have Unlimited machine gun rounds?? You run out of ammo? Tough. Learn to conserve, learn to make your aim count. Anyone can hold the trigger down and hope someone will fly in front of them. Where's the sport and talent in that?? - Fryster |

Please!! Melee's and team duels get dull real fast. RB2 NEEDS co-op missions! Humans vs. the AI.... - Fryster Coop missions in multiplayer would be good, a full coop campaign would be better. - M. Nardi |
